A 17-year-old girl from Ghaziabad has set a new record in JEE Main result 2021. According to the results declared by National Testing Agency on Tuesday evening, Pal Aggarwal scored 100 percentile and shared all-India rank (AIR) 1 with 17 others in the JEE main result. According to NTA officials, Aggarwal was one of the 20 students selected for an interview out of 4.9 lakh candidates who took up this year’s JEE Main exams across India.
Aggarwal has scored 360 out of 360 marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. She is the youngest daughter of an auto driver from Ghaziabad’s Vijay Nagar area.
She also secured 100 percentage in JEE advanced 2021 before her result was declared on Tuesday evening. Her father told NDTV that she wanted to become a doctor since childhood.” Pal intends to be a neurosurgeon,” he said. “We will support her every step of the way.” Pal’s elder sister Pooja Aggarwal is pursuing MBBS at BR Ambedkar Medical College in Agra. Still, she isn’t finding it easy as there are very few seats for girls who want medical studies after the XII standard.
Pal’s success has brought laurels to her family and the entire locality. Her neighbors are celebrating her achievement by distributing sweets in Vijay Nagar, Ghaziabad (NCR).
Her father is proud of his daughter for achieving this big feat but says he wants his children to earn their living.” My aim is that my daughters should become something on their own,” said Vinod Kumar Aggarwal, who runs a small grocery shop from home.
“They will not have to depend on anyone else after marriage. “Pal would like to pursue engineering from IIT Delhi or another prestigious central institute. Still, it remains uncertain if she can fulfill her dream as NTA doesn’t provide any scholarship facility and JEE Main result.
NTA, which is yet to be given a final shape by the HRD ministry and MHRD, has decided not to provide any scholarship along with JEE Main rank this year. Pal scored 97 percentile in Mathematics and 99 percentile in Physics last year but was only ranked at AIR 14 that time. Besides Aggarwal, four other students from Delhi have been selected for interviews after they shared top ranks.
